I live in Tennessee and I want to become a video game designer. The problem is only school in Tennessee that teaches game design is one of the two most expensive. And the next nearest one is in Georgia. But there are schools that teach graphic design and animation. Will classes like those at least get me into the video game design business? I am planing on moving to California or New York to enter the business but don’t want to move till i’m out of college.

I want to get a phd in psychology, and I don’t know what type of ollege I should go to. What would be the reasons to go to a university versus a community college? Grades and dropping out are not a problem, and if there are no god reasons, I would prefer a community college over a university because of money. Thanks for your help!
I would go to a cc to get my gen. ed out of the way, then transfer. My question is: Is there a reason to go to a University right off the bat, or should I save the money and go to a cc for the first two years then transfer?

How many college graduates currently work in the field that they majored in?

williamdefalco asked:

The reason I ask is because something like 90% of college graduates eventually end up working in a career completely unrelated to what they majored in.

Why do people end up doing that? You would think that picking your major involves picking something that you’d love to do later on, and/or at least something that would be dependable. My majors were in Finance and Management (currently wrapping it up) and my career is currently in banking, and I’m very happy with both, so I’m kind of bucking the trend here.

Is there anyone else who is in the same situation, or anyone here who is working in a field completely different from what their majors were. Thanks everybody.
Sorry, I forgot to mention that the 90% figure came from some scholastic documentation I had read years ago when I was just starting college. I can’t recall the name of it, but the article further mentioned that the 90% figure is over the course of 10 years from whence the college student graduated.
